ABOUT US
What began as a community sports project grew into a leading futsal club. We stand for respect, discipline and creativity: values that connect every player, coach and volunteer.
FC Zaanstad grew out of a sports project within Stichting ZSAlliance. Around 2010, a group of young people in Zaandam was brought together under the guidance of Lin Montano and Chiel Damen, with the aim of keeping them off the streets and giving them structure, discipline and energy through football.
With focused training twice a week and a match on Sundays, the boys became fitter and more motivated; by their second season, they had already won a championship on the football pitch.
A new beginning followed in 2010: FC Zaanstad was officially founded as a futsal club, building on the energy and vision of the original project.
DEAF FUTSAL · SINCE 2020
In 2020, a group of deaf and hard-of-hearing futsal players joined FC Zaanstad. What began as one team grew into a fully fledged deaf section, with its own training sessions, its own matches and the same red, white and black pride.
Communication takes place through sign language and eye contact; on the court, that makes no difference. FC Zaanstad 1 Doven won the national title in its very first season and represented the Netherlands in the Deaf Champions League in Madrid, Gothenburg and Guadalajara.
Today, the deaf section is a leading force in the Netherlands and an integral part of who we are: one club, one family, for everyone who loves futsal.

The club became an official association and joined the KNVB competition. The club archive also records its Koepel competition title.
Promotion to the first division and the arrival of deaf and hard-of-hearing futsal players gave the club a new dimension.
The club history records promotion to the Hoofdklasse through the play-offs.
